There were at least two attackers. Taking their voices and body types into account, I believe they were both male, though they took steps to hide their identities. We have many pokemon staying at the Inn, including my own, but they only seemed interested in capturing the Meganium and her offspring.
I do not think the attackers expected us to put up much resistance, as security at the inn is often lax. Thus they retreated once the situation became more fraught.

One of the thieves used a Galvantula. In particular, they seem to have built their team to be strong against Grass-Type pokemon. The other had a more varied team. They lead with a Morpeko.
